Metal Building FAQ: Quotes, Kit Scope, Lead Time and Payment for Export Projects

A metal building faq for export projects covers quote scope, lead time and payment for pre-engineered steel building kits that Xinguangzheng ships from Qingdao, with foundation and site erection done locally. Scope and schedule depend on building size, tonnage and destination port, and we confirm both in the written quote.

  • Steel kits ship from Qingdao
  • Projects from 3,000 m²

Planning a building and unsure what the quote will contain? Give us the building type and destination country, and we return a free, no-obligation quote with a layout, specification and full cost breakdown.

Metal Building FAQ Resources: Packing, Installation, Cost and Quality Control Guides

Packing and shipping, installation, cost and quality control each have a guide that goes deeper than the short answers in this metal building faq. Price depends on span, wind and snow loads, crane tonnage and local code, plus insulation, doors and windows and mezzanines, and the cost guide is where price is covered in depth. At the factory, main welds receive ultrasonic testing (UT) and coatings receive thickness checks, with the detail on the quality control guide. Packing steps and site erection steps stay in their own guides instead of being repeated here.

Before You Request a Metal Building Quote: Inputs, Design Basis and Project Limits

A metal building quote starts from three core inputs: building type and use, width × length × eave height, and site country and city. Six more refine it: single or multiple span, crane tonnage, wall and roof insulation, door and window counts, mezzanine, and whether the site sees high wind or snow. We return a free quote with a layout, specification and cost breakdown, and we send the 3D model for your approval before any steel is cut.

Designs follow the code set by the destination country and the project engineer, written as designed to that code and not as a certification. Clear span is usually up to 60 m, larger spans up to 100 m are engineered per project, and eave height is 6–12 m. When the racking layout is fixed first, column spacing within 6–9 m can follow it, and when a wide open floor matters more, a single-span frame without interior columns is the better fit. The main frame is Q355B welded H-section steel, Q235B or Q460 is optional, Sa2.5 blasting with epoxy zinc-rich primer protects it, and hot-dip galvanizing is optional.

The minimum project size is 3,000 m², and the quote covers a kit without foundation or site installation. Projects under 3,000 m², or turnkey projects where one supplier must take on foundation and erection locally, are simpler with a local contractor. The structure is designed for a 50-year service life, with maintenance as set out in the maintenance manual.

Does your project need a tall eave, a bridge crane or insulated roof and walls? Send those details first, and we write the specification around them in the quote.

Metal Building FAQ: Quote Scope, Lead Time, Payment, Inspection and Installation

Which building types does Xinguangzheng supply, and what is the minimum project size?

Xinguangzheng supplies pre-engineered steel buildings as warehouses, industrial plants, workshops, hangars, cold storage, offices, car showrooms, commercial buildings and high-bay warehouses. Projects start at 3,000 m². Send the footprint and intended use with your request, and the quote sets the layout and specification for that building type.

Which items are in the quote scope, and which are excluded?

The quote covers the steel structure, roof and wall panels, gutters and downpipes, bolts, accessories, shop drawings, the installation manual, export packing and a container loading plan. Foundation, site installation, sea freight, customs clearance, duties, taxes, insurance, inland transport, permits and site preparation are excluded. Anchor bolt supply is confirmed in your quote.

What are the production time and the total project timeline?

Production takes 15–40 days depending on tonnage, confirmed in your quote. A whole project usually runs 4–12 weeks, spanning consultation, 3D design approval, factory fabrication and local installation. Sea transit time is not published on this page, and it is confirmed against your destination port in the quote.

How is payment structured, and can I inspect before the balance is due?

Terms are T/T or L/C, with a 30% deposit and the 70% balance due before shipment. The UT weld inspection report and photos reach you before that balance is paid, and a third-party inspector you appoint is welcome. Review the evidence first, because payment and inspection documents are tied together.

How is the steel packed and shipped, and which documents arrive with it?

Steel is bundled on pallets with an export packing and container loading plan, and cargo leaves Qingdao in 20′GP, 40′GP, 40′HQ or 40′OT containers or as bulk. Shop drawings, the installation manual and the UT report with photos come with the order. Material certificates are not on that list; ask for them with your request.

Who designs and builds the foundation, and who erects the steel on site?

Foundation design and construction are done by the buyer locally, and column base reaction data is provided for that design. Site installation is not in the quote. The installation manual and free remote guidance come with the order, and on-site installation guidance is an optional extra.

Does Xinguangzheng manufacture its own steel, and which certificates does it hold?

Xinguangzheng manufactures main and secondary structures and roof and wall panels, while doors, cranes and insulation cores are supplied. Qingdao Xinguangzheng Steel Structure Co., Ltd. holds CWB certification to CSA W47.1 Div.1 for steel welding. It holds CE / EN 1090 for exports to Europe and EAC · GOST 23118-2019 for exports to Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union.

Has Xinguangzheng supplied buildings similar to mine?

Listed supply includes warehouses in Australia and Algeria, an aircraft hangar in Australia, and factory buildings in Algeria, Ethiopia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Jamaica. It also lists showrooms in Uruguay, Brazil, the Netherlands and Aruba, a supermarket in Angola and an office building in the Solomon Islands. The list shows countries and building types only.

Which answers in this metal building faq only count once they are written into the quote?

Final price, sea transit time and anchor bolt supply are confirmed in the written quote, not on this page. Price is confirmed after engineering review of design loads, drawings, destination port and project specifications. Material certificate scope is not published here, so ask for it with your request.

Send Building Size and Destination Country for a Metal Building Quote

After this metal building faq, send width × length × eave height, building type and destination country, and we return a free quote with a layout, specification and cost breakdown. Cargo ships from Qingdao in containers or as bulk, so the destination port is part of what the quote confirms.
