Prefab Steel Structure Workshop Buildings
We manufacture the steel structure workshop as a prefab kit of frame, roof and wall panels and accessories; foundation and erection are local. Clear span depends on the project, with 60 m standard and up to 100 m engineered, and projects start at 3,000 m².
For projects from 3,000 m², send the workshop’s width, length, eave height, site country and crane tonnage, and we reply with a free layout, specification and itemized quote.

Steel Frame Structure Workshop: Single Span, Multi-Span and Crane Provision
A steel frame structure workshop is framed either as a single span with no interior columns or as a multi-span hall with interior column lines. A single span up to 60 m is standard, and a wider span up to 100 m is engineered for the project. Span, crane tonnage and eave height are confirmed per project in your quote, and this page does not tabulate workshop uses or sizes.

Single clear span
No interior columns cross the width of the frame, so the floor inside stays open.

Multi-span
Interior column lines divide the width into several spans, and the layout that comes with the quote shows where they fall.

Overhead crane provision
The quote can provide for a 5 t, 10 t or 20 t overhead crane, and the tonnage you need is stated when you request the quote.

What Drives the Cost of a Steel Workshop Building
Every steel workshop building is quoted to its own drawings, and this page lists the cost drivers without publishing a rate. Projects below 3,000 m² are not a fit for this kit supply. Neither are turnkey projects that need the supplier to build the foundation and erect the workshop, and a locally contracted building is simpler for both. Insulation, a crane rail system, facade design and on-site erection guidance are options, and anchor bolt supply is confirmed in your quote.
| Cost driver | What moves the number |
|---|---|
| Clear span | The quote follows the span and eave height you send, with single or multi-span set in the layout |
| Wind and snow loads with local code | High wind and snow zones get a heavier frame and closer purlin spacing, under the code that applies at your site |
| Crane tonnage | Provision is made for a 5 t, 10 t or 20 t overhead crane, and the rail system is optional |
| Insulation scheme | Roof and wall options run from 0.5 mm profiled sheet to EPS, rock wool or PU sandwich panel |
| Door and window count | The quote follows the number of doors and windows you list |
| Mezzanine | A mezzanine floor added to the layout adds to the scope |

Workshop Frame Design Codes and Loads
A workshop frame from Xinguangzheng is designed to the code set by the destination country and the project engineer. These are design codes, not certificates, and the list below shows the codes in common use.
- AISC 360
- EN 1993
- AS 4100
- GB 50017
Loads are engineered to the code that applies at your site, and AS/NZS 1170 covers design loading for Australia and New Zealand. High wind and snow zones get a heavier frame and closer purlin spacing. The final design of structure, services and civil works is confirmed by the local professional for your project.

Steel Workshop Manufacturing and Quality Control
We manufacture workshop frames under an ISO 9001:2015 quality system, in four factories with 12 production lines and 150,000 m² of factory space, at an annual capacity of up to 150,000 tonnes of steel structures. We manufacture the primary and secondary structure and the profiled roof sheet and wall panels, and we supply doors, windows, cranes, insulation core and skylights. Our steel structures are manufactured by Qingdao Xinguangzheng Steel Structure Co., Ltd. (NEEQ: 834422), an AISC Certified Building Fabricator (Complex Coating F1), and certificate copies are available on request. The company is certified by the Canadian Welding Bureau to CSA W47.1 Division 1 and holds EN 1090 (CE), EAC (GOST 23118-2019), ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification.
Cutting and welding
Plate is cut on laser cutting machines and welded with welding robots, using Q355B welded H-section for the main frame.
Weld testing
Main welds are tested by ultrasonic testing (UT), and coating thickness is measured before the steel leaves the factory.
Blast and prime
Steel is blast cleaned to Sa2.5 and primed with epoxy zinc-rich primer on an automated coating line, and hot-dip galvanizing is optional.
Check before final payment
The UT report and photos reach you before you pay the balance, and third-party inspection is welcome.
Manufacturing process

From Workshop Brief to Container Loading
Requirements
Send width, length and eave height, site country and city, single or multi-span, and any crane, insulation, door, window and mezzanine needs.
Quotation
A free layout, specification and itemized quote for your workshop comes first, and it states what is in and out of the supply.
Design and fabrication
The Tekla 3D model goes to you for approval, and cutting starts only after approval. Production takes 15–40 days depending on tonnage, confirmed in your quote.
Export and support
Steel goes on steel pallets with an export packing and container loading plan, from Qingdao Port, about 1.5 hours from the factory. Transit time is confirmed for your destination port, a whole project usually takes 4–12 weeks, and on-site erection is not in the quote, with an installation manual and free remote guidance provided.
Steel Structure Workshop FAQ
Is there a minimum project size for a steel structure workshop?
A steel structure workshop supplied by Xinguangzheng starts at 3,000 m². Smaller buildings, and turnkey projects where the supplier must build the foundation and erect the workshop, fall outside this kit supply. Send your dimensions, site location and intended use, and the quote confirms whether your project fits.
What does a steel workshop quote cover, and what is left out?
The quote covers primary and secondary steel, roof and wall panels, gutters, downpipes, bolts, accessories, shop drawings, the installation manual, export packing and a container loading plan. Foundation, on-site erection, freight, insurance, customs clearance, duties, taxes and permits stay outside it. Insulation and a crane rail system are options.
How wide can a workshop frame span without interior columns?
A single span with no interior columns reaches 60 m as standard, and spans up to 100 m are engineered project by project. Eave height runs from 6 to 12 m and can be raised, and the height your workshop needs is confirmed in the quote.
Can the frame be designed for an overhead crane?
The quote can provide for a 5 t, 10 t or 20 t overhead crane, and a crane rail system is an option. Give the tonnage you need when you send your dimensions, because crane tonnage is one of the six items that move the quote.
Which design codes govern a steel workshop frame?
The destination country and the project engineer set the code, and AISC 360, EN 1993, AS 4100, AS/NZS 1170 and GB 50017 are in common use. These are design codes, not certificates. Loads follow the code that applies at your site, with heavier framing in high wind and snow zones.
How long from order to a finished steel workshop?
Production takes 15–40 days depending on tonnage, confirmed in your quote. A whole project, from consultation and 3D design approval through fabrication to local erection, usually runs 4–12 weeks. Steel ships from Qingdao Port, and sea transit time is confirmed for your destination port.
How is payment split, and what do I receive before the final payment?
Payment is by T/T or L/C, with a 30% deposit and the remaining 70% paid before shipment. Before you pay the balance, you receive the ultrasonic testing (UT) report on the main welds together with photos, and third-party inspection is welcome.
Do you build the foundation or erect the workshop on site?
Neither is in the quote, because your local contractor designs and builds the foundation and erects the workshop. Column base reaction data for the foundation design, an installation manual and free remote guidance are provided, and on-site erection guidance is an option.
Which workshop projects has Xinguangzheng supplied?
Xinguangzheng has supplied a car dealership showroom and workshop in Uruguay, and a logistics workshop and a television-set workshop in Algeria. Project area and year are not published on this page, so name your building type and destination country when you send your request. See the delivered projects page for this building type.
